The cost of public transport fares may increase in some regions of Armenia. This was recently announced by Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Davit Khudatyan.
"We are currently reviewing the tariffs. It's possible that some areas may experience price hikes. However, in certain routes, the fare will remain unchanged," Khudatyan noted.
He also mentioned that, on some routes, the tariffs may decrease, depending on the types of vehicles being used. The Minister emphasized that significant resources have been allocated over the past few years to improve the quality of passenger transportation in Armenia. Khudatyan expressed hope that by the end of 2025, a fully functioning passenger transport system will be established across the country.
Additionally, it was noted that starting from February 1, 2025, as part of the reform of the public transport system in Yerevan, a new tariff policy will be implemented, which will raise the price of a single ticket to 150 drams. The new fare will be effective in 2025, and in the coming years, prices may increase by a maximum of 10 drams annually.
