According to the latest data from the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat), released for March 2025, the country’s tourism revenue continues to grow steadily—reflecting both an increase in tourist arrivals and higher spending per visitor.
In March 2025 alone, total tourism revenue reached a record €129.4 million, marking a 14.5% increase compared to March 2024, when the figure was €113 million.
Looking at the broader picture, tourism income for January to March 2025 amounted to €278.3 million, a 24.6% rise from the same period in 2024 (€223.3 million). This growth is not only due to a higher number of visitors but also because of increased spending per tourist. In March 2025, the average spend per visitor rose to €644.65, up 15.3% from €558.88 in March 2024.
Cystat’s data also reveal how spending varies by nationality:
British tourists, who represent 30.7% of total arrivals, spent on average €78.87 per day.
Israeli visitors, the second largest group (14.1%), recorded significantly higher daily spending at €194.69.
Polish tourists (9.9% of arrivals) spent €76.07 per day on average.

These differences in daily expenditure highlight the diverse travel habits and preferences of tourists, offering valuable insights for targeted marketing and customized service offerings.
The ongoing rise in tourism income, combined with increased per-capita spending, signals a strong recovery and resilience of Cyprus’s tourism sector after challenging years.
It also reinforces the island’s appeal as a year-round destination, known for quality vacations and top-tier services.
Given the tourism sector’s vital role in the national economy, continued investment in infrastructure is expected to further strengthen Cyprus’s position on the global travel map.
