Greece recorded €778.6 million in tourism revenue in April 2025, significantly higher than the €666 million collected in April 2024. This impressive growth is mainly attributed to a 17.4% increase in travel-related earnings, which reached €1,084.3 million compared to €923.7 million the previous year.

Spending by international travelers also rose by 18.7%, totaling €305.8 million. The revenue boost is the result of both a 6.4% increase in tourist arrivals and a 10.6% rise in average visitor spending. Net tourism income covered 27% of Greece’s trade deficit and accounted for 77.8% of all net service revenues, highlighting tourism's essential role in the national economy.

From January to April 2025, the tourism balance surplus reached €1,177.0 million, exceeding the €1,137.2 million recorded during the same period in 2024. Overall tourism revenue rose by 10.6%, hitting €2,157.1 million, while travel spending also increased by 20.5%, totaling €980.1 million.
