The Cyprus Department of Public Works has announced the introduction of new road markings in locations where fixed cameras are installed to automatically capture traffic violations. According to the department, these markings serve an informative purpose, similar to the relevant road signs, and are not a priority over other traffic instructions on the road.
The new road markings are easily recognizable, as they feature a white camera symbol placed over yellow lines. The marking was introduced a few days ago, and it is expected to appear at all intersections where cameras have been installed in the near future.
The Department of Public Works stated that the purpose of this initiative is to "modernize and improve the existing signage for further informing the public." The department also urged Cypriot drivers to follow the instructions on road signs and adhere to traffic regulations.

As of now, Cyprus has installed 87 road cameras across various regions. The most common violations captured by these cameras include:
Speeding
Running a red light
Crossing the stop line at a traffic light
Failure to wear a seatbelt
Motorcyclists not wearing helmets
Using mobile phones or other distractions while driving
