Tourism in Armenia continues to grow, with the country becoming an increasingly popular destination for international travelers. According to the latest statistics published by the Armenian Tourism Committee, a total of 203,810 tourists visited Armenia in October 2024 alone.

This marks an increase compared to the same month last year, when 195,396 tourists arrived in Armenia — showing a growth of 8,414 visitors year-over-year.

January–October 2024 Tourism Overview

From January to October 2024, Armenia welcomed a total of 1,926,405 tourists. While this is slightly lower than the same period in 2023 (2,045,369 visitors), interest in the country remains strong.

Top Source Countries of Tourists:

Russia – 43% (626,200 visitors)

Georgia – 11% (220,700 visitors)

Iran – 7% (61,100 visitors)

United States – 3% (54,400 visitors)

India – 2% (35,700 visitors)

How Tourists Arrive in Armenia

The majority of tourists (62%) entered the country by air through Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan. Among land border checkpoints, Bagratashen was the busiest, while Ayrum was the least used.

Who’s Visiting?

The largest group of visitors were between the ages of 35 and 44, showing a strong interest among middle-aged travelers. Meanwhile, the least active groups were teenagers (13–17 years) and seniors over 65.

Peak Tourist Month: August 2024

It’s worth noting that August 2024 saw the highest number of tourist arrivals, with a record-breaking 300,919 visitors.
