Payment Requirements for Vehicle Registration

To complete the renewal process, you will need to have the following documents:

Valid MOT (Ministry of Transport) Certificate proving your vehicle passed inspection.

Current car insurance.

Payment for registration can be made through several methods:

Online via the Department of Road Transport website.

At any Citizen Service Centre (KEP).

At any Post Office.

At local District offices of the Department of Road Transport.

The department recommends that vehicle owners renew their registrations as early as possible to avoid any system overloads during the last days before the deadline.

Deadline and Late Fees for Vehicle Registration Renewal

The final deadline for payment is March 11, 2025. After this date, a late fee will apply:

A flat €10 surcharge, plus 10% of the registration fee for the year.

Additionally, starting from March 11, 2025, the Cypriot police will begin issuing €150 fines to vehicle owners who fail to renew their registration on time.

For Non-Operational Vehicles

If you do not plan to use your vehicle in 2025 or if it is inoperable, you must submit one of the following certificates:

Certificate of Vehicle Immobilization (TOM 98A) — If the vehicle will not be in use in 2025.

Certificate of Destruction — If the vehicle has been scrapped or is no longer roadworthy (e.g., after an accident).
