According to the latest data from the Cyprus Statistical Service, the volume of petroleum product sales on the island decreased by 2.9% in January 2025 compared to the same period in the previous year, reaching 106,552 tons.
Fuel Sales Dynamics
The biggest decline was observed in the supply of oil to ships (-7%), aviation kerosene (-5.8%), regular kerosene (-1.9%), and heavy (-17.2%) and light (-36.8%) fuel oils. On the other hand, there was an increase in the sales of:
Heating oil (+2.3%)
Diesel fuel (+1.9%)
Gasoline (+4%)
Liquefied petroleum gas (+6.9%)
Comparison with the Previous Month
Compared to December 2024, the drop in petroleum product sales was even more significant, with a 9.3% decrease. The most notable decline was seen in the supply of fuel for ships (-25.9%), aviation kerosene (-9.7%), as well as gasoline (-6.9%) and diesel fuel (-5%).
General Statistics
Despite the overall drop, sales through gas stations increased by 3.4%, reaching 56,518 tons. Meanwhile, petroleum product stocks at the end of January 2025 increased by 12.8% compared to the end of December 2024.
