Cyprus’ tourism industry is experiencing one of the most successful periods in its history.
Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis announced that monthly arrivals have surpassed half a million for the first time.
The cumulative results from January to October also reached record-breaking levels, marking the strongest ten-month performance ever recorded. Although the traditional peak occurs in the summer, Cyprus has managed to maintain an impressive pace even after the end of the high season.
This momentum is largely attributed to the government’s strategy of extending the tourism season, enhancing air connectivity, and building a stable off-season flow that increasingly resembles summer demand. As a result, tourism businesses operate more steadily, and the market becomes less vulnerable to seasonal fluctuations.

Koumis emphasized that the sector’s recovery and ongoing growth are a direct outcome of targeted government policies. Digital promotion efforts, initiatives aimed at boosting winter tourism, and the long-term goal of developing Cyprus into a fully year-round destination are producing clear, measurable results. Current figures demonstrate that the chosen course is yielding strong outcomes.
Compared to last year, October arrivals grew by 17.1%, while the three-year increase reached 34.2%. Crossing the threshold of 500,000 arrivals in a single month marks an important milestone for the entire sector.
Equally impressive are the ten-month figures: since January, the island has welcomed more than 4.14 million visitors — already surpassing the total for all of 2024 and setting a new all-time record for Cyprus tourism. Annual growth now stands at 11.1%, and the three-year trend has reached nearly 41%, underscoring the island’s steadily rising appeal to international travelers.
