Tourism revenues in Cyprus from January to November 2024 reached an impressive €3.1 billion, surpassing the same period in 2023 by €200 million. This data was recently published by the Statistical Service of the island nation.

In addition to the overall increase in profits, the department also reported a rise in the average spending per tourist. In November 2024, the average expenditure per traveler was €771.02, marking an 8.2% increase compared to the previous year.

As usual, the largest number of tourists came to the island from the United Kingdom, accounting for 25.9% of all visits. British visitors spent an average of €80.58 per day. Polish tourists (11.3% of total visitors) spent €88.80 daily, while Israeli tourists (10.5% of the tourism flow) were the most generous, spending €139.80 per day.

Earlier, the head of Cyprus' Ministry of Tourism, Costas Kumis, announced that the total number of tourist arrivals in 2024 reached 4,040,200. This surpassed the pre-pandemic record of 3.98 million tourists set in 2019. The total number of tourist visits last year increased by 5.1% compared to 2023, when 3,845,652 people visited the island. December also set its own record, with 133,063 visitors arriving on the island, compared to 123,630 in December 2023.
